Although I am in the midst of designing and sewing an entire collection, today i felt like i'd been wasting too much time this summer and that i haven't done enough creative projects. I made this cape out of loads of paper, some double-sided tape, interfacing and Black canvas. I was so pleased with the way that it turned out that i want to make another - sturdier - version with thicker paper and probably in a different color.

Phase Two: Design
So, as i said, i'm keeping you posted on the progress of our collection and here to prove it are some simple sketches of 3 of our designs. we have, from left to right, the peacock, the pheasant, and the raven. The silhouettes are fairly simple but we're adding feather accessories and other details to make them more interesting. Wednesday we're going feather and fabric shopping and we'll hopefully begin constructing the peacock!
Needy Girl
A friend and I got bored the other day and made men's shirts into dresses. it completely inspired me to create a collection based on the same fitted shape. I'll keep you posted! and the collection is for Thread Fair, an Austin - area fashion show a couple of my friends and I are hosting. Check it out,
