The "Nu Rave" look as coined by The Klaxons, was all the rage last year along with House of Holland Knockoffs and Blinding Neon Nike Dunks. And as the trend quickly trickled down to maintream mall stores and thirteen year old girls in gold lame headbands, it seems as though a new grunge or as stated by Filippa in her (amazing) blog "NuGoth" is gripping the world of young fashion bloggers and It Girls. Doc Martens, Ripped tights, jean jackets, and all things that are a mixture of 70s punk an 90s grunge are now hitting the larger markets after being pioneered by swedish fashion bloggers and Alice Dellal. The dreaded nineties of spaghetti straps, platform sandals, and cornrows, have somehow managed to redeem themselves with a little help from Kurt Cobain and the return and reworking of combat boots. Although this "NuGoth" and Grunge trend will not last in the fashion world as it makes its way to the Target sale racks, i know for right now, i am completely in love with it.
