Chinese born Cai Guo-Qiang is a contemporary artist and curator whose sculptures would no doubtably cause a stir within the ranks of PETA - if they were as real as they appear to be. In 2009 Guo-Qiang installed a piece entitled Inopportune: Stage Two in the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. The exhibition features nine life-sized tiger replicas constructed from paper-mache, plaster, fiberglass, resin, and painted hide. The tigers rest in various positions pain. They dive through the air, their bodies contorted and covered in arrows. Guo-Qiang Began his work in China as a set designer, and later, used photography to capture his signature "Explosion Events". The exhibit in Taipei as well as an exhibit ax one from the Guggenheim are pictured below along with one of his staged photographs.
